WrestleMania 35: 4 shocking betrayals WWE could be planning
A total of 15 matches have been announced for WWE WrestleMania 35, including Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships) in the first women’s main event in the show’s history.
The rest of the title matches on the show are as follows: Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins (Universal Championship), Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston (WWE Championship), Bobby Lashley vs. Finn Balor (Intercontinental Championship), Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio (United States Championship), Buddy Murphy vs. Tony Nese (Cruiserweight Championship), Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Nia Jax & Tamina vs. Beth Phoenix & Natalya vs. The IIconics (Women’s Tag Team Championship), and The Usos vs. The Bar vs. Ricochet & Aleister Black vs. Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura (SmackDown Tag Team Championship).
As for the non-title matches, the following encounters have been made official: Triple H vs. Batista (HHH retires if he loses), Shane McMahon vs. The Miz (Falls Count Anywhere), Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin (Angle’s farewell match), AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton, Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre, Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and the Women’s Battle Royal.
In this article, let’s take a look at four of the most likely betrayals that could take place during the stacked show.
#4 Bobby Roode betrays Chad Gable
Bobby Roode & Chad Gable surprisingly became a tag team after SummerSlam 2018. They got off to a rocky start, with both men losing singles matches against Ascension member Konnor before picking up a series of victories en route to their Raw Tag Team Championship triumph over AOP in December.
The duo’s reign lasted 63 days, including successful title defenses against AOP and The Revival, and then Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder finally won the titles on an episode of Raw in February 2019.
Since then, although Roode & Gable have been tearing the house down on live events with The Revival, the former champions have hit a slump on WWE television, notably on the latest Raw when Roode planted the seeds for a possible betrayal by ominously staring at Gable following their loss to Heavy Machinery.
Both men have been confirmed for the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, so perhaps we could see “The Glorious One” kick-start a long-awaited heel turn by throwing his tag partner over the top rope.
