WrestleMania main-event partner, top faction - 3 famous feuds John Cena should NOT revisit during WWE farewell tour

John Cena's illustrious WWE run is all set to reach its finale next year following an anticipated Retirement Tour. There is a lengthy list of stars The Franchise Player should face and a short list of those he shouldn't.

For a couple of years now, wrestling fans have been clamoring to see John Cena and Randy Orton revive their legendary feud before The Leader of Cenation calls it quits. Moreover, during the WWE Money in the Bank post-show conference, The Best in The World stated that he'd like to wrestle the 16-time WWE World Champion once again.

So, it's safe to say that there are several notable foes from Cena's past whom he should step in the ring with one last time. At the same time, some rematches are better off not materializing. After all, the wrestler-turned-actor will only be working select dates in 2025 and thus needs to ensure every appearance of his is per the wishes of the WWE Universe.

That said, here are three memorable rivalries that John Cena should not be revisiting during his Retirement Tour.

#3. Vs. The Bloodline!

Other than Roman Reigns being the focus of it all, there's another reason why The Bloodline is the top faction in WWE today. It's the fact that they've spent their entire run beefing with the promotion's top stars.

From Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton to Edge and Daniel Bryan, the heel faction has been constantly involved in red-hot feuds with main-event stars for the last four years. Among these big names is 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena.

The Doctor of Thuganomics has been feuding with Roman Reigns and his stablemates since 2017. His last two full-time runs were entirely dedicated to elevating Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, respectively, resulting in fans missing out on a plethora of first-time matches.

Therefore, his upcoming run should be free of any association with The Bloodline. After all, Cena getting his revenge on Reigns and Solo at WrestleMania XL, followed by an iconic face-off with The Rock, was a fitting end to that chapter in his story. Furthermore, there's no shortage of fresh, credible heels that The Cenation Leader should strive to humble.

#2. Vs. Sheamus!

Over the last two decades, a significant portion of the WWE Universe has criticized John Cena for burying emerging talent.

While that's debatable, what's undisputed is the fact that The Peacemaker star has also helped push numerous gifted names to main-event status. When he went through the table at TLC 2009, fans immediately knew that Sheamus was going to be a big deal, despite him being a main-roster member for only about six months at that point.

The two-time Royal Rumble winner and The Celtic Warrior extended their feud through the summer of 2010, with the latter once again triumphing over The Face of WWE to secure his second World Title.

So, even though Sheamus and Cena share a rich history, their story is not something that garners a reimagination in 2025. Hence, the two decorated veterans should be better off staying in their lanes.

#1. Vs. 2x WWE Champion, The Miz!

It can be argued that The Miz might not be on most wrestling fans' Mount Rushmore lists. However, that doesn't negate the fact that The Awesome One has carved out a legendary career for himself.

Apart from being the inaugural two-time Grand Slam Champion in WWE, The Miz has been Mr. Money in the Bank twice and has also headlined The Show of Shows. Not only did he go on last at WrestleMania 27, but he also walked out of it with a victory over John Cena.

The Miz and The Doctor of Thuganomics are no strangers. They have run into each other multiple times over the last 15 years and have squared off in the Elimination Chamber, mixed-match, Steel Cage, and various other types of bouts.

That said, it's fair to assume that fans have moved beyond the need for yet another Cena vs. The Miz scrap. The reason for that is that none of the 47-year-old legend's final 30–40 appearances should feature anything less than a dream interaction or match.
