Wrestling legends, top stable to step up to Solo Sikoa? - 4 tag teams who can dethrone The Bloodline following WWE SmackDown
WWE SmackDown had a few major goals. The first was to hype up Bad Blood 2024, which turned out to be a memorable event. The other was to provide a stacked show for fans to enjoy and Triple H certainly delivered in that regard.
Perhaps the highlight of this Friday's SmackDown was the Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match with the WWE Tag Team Championship on the line. The reigning champions Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa defended their gold against DIY and the Street Profits.
The match was epic and certainly one of the top Ladder Matches in recent memory. While Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins gave it their all, The Bloodline stood tall.
Now, fans are wondering who can ever dethrone Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. For once, the duo did not even have help, yet they still defeated two of the best teams in the world. This article will take a look at a handful of tandems who could potentially be the ones to win the gold and defeat the Tongans.
Below are four tag teams who can dethrone The Bloodline following WWE SmackDown.
#4. Legado Del Fantasma could step up to The Bloodline and Solo Sikoa
Legado Del Fantasma is one of Friday Night SmackDown's top stables. The group is comprised of Santos Escobar, who is the leader, along with Elektra Lopez and the tag team Los Garza.
Los Garza is made up of Angel and Berto, formerly known as Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, respectively. The two have been a team on WWE's main roster and NXT for several years now and are one of the most underrated duos in the company.
There is a chance that Los Garza and Legado Del Fantasma as a whole could target The Bloodline. Santos could step up to Solo Sikoa while Angel and Berto could challenge Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa for the tag team belts. The only question mark is Jacob Fatu, but that is impossible to combat.
#3. The Motor City Machine Guns are likely to debut in WWE
The Motor City Machine Guns are a legendary tag team in the world of professional wrestling. While the two have not been part of WWE, they were major stars in TNA Wrestling and even competed in other promotions such as Ring of Honor (ROH) and All Elite Wrestling, albeit briefly in the case of the latter.
After months of rumors and reports indicating that Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin could be heading to WWE, a new vignette aired on SmackDown seemingly promoting their arrival. A follow-up vignette then aired at Bad Blood 2024.
The Motor City Machine Guns are very likely coming to SmackDown and they could make a massive splash as soon as they first appear. The duo could do so by stepping up and challenging Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa for their tag belts immediately upon their debut.
#2. R-KO could chase the tag team gold
R-KO is a newer tag team comprised of two singles stars, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. While both men have had their fair share of tag team success in the past, the two uniting in WWE still came as a surprise to many.
The duo have had a lot of issues with The Bloodline and they seem to get along quite well. That combination could be bad news for Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. While Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu are likely busy with family business, the Tongans could face two of the best in the world.
The only potential drawback to this is Kevin Owens shockingly assaulting Cody Rhodes after Bad Blood 2024. Now that Kevin has turned heel, will he and Orton remain friends? Supposing that they do, or if both men turn heel, they could be the ones to dethrone The Bloodline.
#1. The Good Brothers could turn babyface again
AJ Styles is back in WWE, or at least, he was for one night. The Phenomenal One appeared on SmackDown but injured his ankle mid-match. One notable aspect of his return was that the 47-year-old star turned babyface upon his comeback.
Prior to his recent absence, Styles was a heel and he had reunited with The Good Brothers. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson remain heels, even battling babyface teams on WWE NXT. Now with AJ back, potentially for a while depending on how his ankle heals, Gallows and Anderson could end up turning babyface too.
If they do, the duo could end up challenging Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa for the gold. Given the four stars' history in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), the two teams clashing for gold on SmackDown would actually be quite cool to see.
