WWE 205 Live Results - October 3, 2017
Enzo Amore is still the Cruiserweight Champion, even though nobody on 205 Live wanted him to be. A recap of the previous night's main event segment on Raw kicked off with this episode of WWE's Cruiserweight-exclusive show.
Kalisto debuted on Monday and according to Kurt Angle, he happened to be exempt from any of the recent no-contact clauses. The former Lucha Dragon made a big first impression, laying out Enzo with a Salida Del Sol.
The Enzo Amore as Cruiserweight Champion experiment has rocked the 205 Live world in the short time it's been in effect. It's all starting to gel, although he's settling in with how he interacts with some on the roster. The dynamic of him versus the entire locker room was softened with a couple of the resident heels on this episode.
Nigel McGuinness returned to the commentary table alongside Vic Joseph. Kalisto took on Ariya Daivari for his 205 Live debut. Cedric Alexander took on Gentleman Jack Gallagher as well.
#1 Kalisto vs. Ariya Daivari
Kalisto is out first and had a microphone in hand. He initially spoke in Spanish, then switched to English to talk about the opportunity that Kurt Angle gave him to join this brand. Enzo Amore's music then hit to interrupt him. He called Kalisto a "lucky little lucha leprechaun" as well as a shmuck. Enzo essentially told him that he was only going to be relevant now that he's on the "Zo Show."
Kalisto's big retort was to air the footage of Amore kicking Neville below the belt to initially win the Cruiserweight Championship. Enzo reminded Kalisto that when he faced off against Braun Strowman he ended up inside a trash can. Enzo walked back his insults of Daivari from the night before for the purpose of talking out Kalisto's opponent for the opening match. This turned out to be quite a lengthy promo segment.
Kalisto started with the fire early, giving Ariya a headscissors takedown out of the ring followed by a slick senton from his knees off the top rope out of the ring. Enzo was watching backstage on a monitor. Daivari offered a cheap shot to gain the advantage. A big boot stopped a charging Kalisto into the corner. Kalisto chin-checked his way back into control, then followed it up with a corkscrew out of the corner then a basement hurricanrana.
Daivari took over with a Spinebuster reversal of a Salida Del Sol. He tried to get the pin after a top rope Persian Lion Splash, but was unsuccessful. Kalisto then connected with his finisher, which was enough to keep Ariya down for three. Enzo Amore was then shown frustrated backstage, watching the victory celebration.
Result: Kalisto def. Ariya Daivari
Highlights of the Brian Kendrick vs. Cedric Alexander No DQ Match from two weeks ago was shown. That was when Jack Gallagher turned hell, joining Brian's feud against Cedric. They double teamed against him again last week and stated that a "cruel winter" now begins on 205 Live.
Drew Gulak walked backstage, carrying his "No Chants" sign. Nigel stated that he'd be taking on Mustafa Ali next.
