WWE: 4 Potential Matches for Fastlane
Elimination Chamber was a magnificent show where some great matches took place. Though some bouts disappointed the fans, it was a stupendous show before WrestleMania. Several new rivalries are likely to develop after the show in Houston, and some feuds might continue till the Show of Shows.
The Intercontinental title changed hands at Elimination Chamber as Finn Balor won his maiden Intercontinental Championship in a handicap match against Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush. While Ronda Rousey retained her Raw women's title against Ruby Riott, Daniel Bryan survived five other men to retain the WWE title in a traditional Elimination Chamber match.
Buddy Murphy retained the Cruiserweight title against Akira Tozawa, and Sasha Banks and Bayley became the inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions after overpowering five other teams.
The Universal champion Brock Lesnar did not take part at Elimination Chamber. As a matter of fact, the Smackdown Women's title and the US title were also not defended at the Toyota Center.
WWE's next PPV is Fastlane, which is set to take place on 10th March at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Fastlane will be the final PPV before WrestleMania 35, and it will play a significant role. In all honesty, Fastlane has been a substandard PPV, after its inception in 2015 but WWE will be eager to produce a remarkable show this year.
Since Fastlane will be a dual brand PPV this year, it could turn out to be an imposing show in Cleveland. Fastlane is the last phase before the Grandest Stage of Them All and the WWE Universe will get a clear view of the feuds before the Show of Shows at Metlife Stadium.
Here we discuss four bouts that might take place at Fastlane.
#4 Aleister Black vs Elias
Aleister Black made his main roster debut on Raw and he defeated Elias. Considering the charisma of Elias, he could bring the best out of Black. Black needs a credible opponent for his first main roster feud, and Elias is undoubtedly a great choice who is popular in the WWE Universe.
Black attained immense popularity in NXT where he became the NXT Champion. He had some mind-boggling bouts with Lars Sullivan, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, and many more. Other than winning the NXT title, Black also won the NXT Male Competitor of the Year award in 2017.
Black will be aiming to continue his impressive run on the main roster. Since Elias is also a top-notch performer in the squared circle, they can steal the show at Fastlane. The feud could continue till Fastlane, but it might not extend after the PPV in Cleveland. Black needs an elite opponent of the red brand if he wants to make a mark at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
