Styles Clash reportedly banned by WWE, AJ Styles comments

We may never see this agains in the WWE!

Fans have slowly seen AJ Styles’s repertoire of moves unfold ever since his debut at the Royal Rumble, and among his arsenal of innovative maneuvers, none invokes a better reaction than his finisher, the Styles Clash. Many were apprehensive of WWE letting Styles use the move and our worst fears may have unfortunately be true.

There have been lots of talk backstage on banning the Styles Clash due to safety hazards that come along with the finisher. All of this stemmed from Vince McMahon’s concern for the safety of his employees.

The boss was recently informed that Japenese wrestler and NJPW star Yoshi Tatsu broke his neck as a result of a botched Styles Clash and has given rise to worrying thoughts of WWE stars getting injured the same way in Vince’s mind.

This is the very reason why Styles has been winning most of his matches with his submission finisher – the Calf Crusher. AJ Styles, in the midst of the rumors circulating all around the internet, took to Twitter to address the same, and possibly squashed the speculations with this post:

With half of the roster out with serious injuries, WWE stars calling quits due to neck related issues and the perennial risk of botches, it wouldn’t be a surprise if WWE does actually bar Styles from using the visibly destructive finisher.
