TNA considering taking legal action against wrestling trio, WWE-AJ Styles update

Styles is one of the wrestlers who may face legal action

TNA is considering taking legal action against a trio of wrestlers after they backed out of their contract with the franchise. The wrestlers in question are AJ Styles, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson.

TNA stated that negotiations were done on December 14th at Dixie Carter’s home in Nashville, and ended in a “handshake and written deal” between Styles, Anderson, Gallows and TNA “was agreed upon and signed by all”.

The franchise was so sure of the deal going through that creatives, plane tickets and even merchandise were all finalised. However, things took an unexpected turn and the wrestlers ceased all communication with the franchise after Christmas even while lawyers put finishing touches on the deal.

Further shock arrived when the wrestlers lawyers contacted the franchise and stated that their clients were not interested in honouring their agreement with the franchise.

Styles was a long time target of TNA and were in contact with him since November, during which Anderson and Gallows also entered the fray. TNA felt that Styles would make a perfect addition to POP TV.

Gallows and Anderson were also former New Japan Pro Wrestling alumni, much like Styles and were a part of TNA’s plans.

The initial dealing, which took place on December 14th, ‘could not have gone better, and even culminated with the coming up of logos and creative storylines. Officials of the franchise insist that agreements were signed, although no lawyers were present at the meeting.

Anderson and Gallows have failed to contact the franchise, but Styles did in fact, get back to them this week and stated that his family was his priority and would make decisions with them in mind.

The statement issued by TNA noted that the franchise were displeased over the breaking down of communications and stated that the wrestlers wronged them by backing out of the deal. By publishing the statement, TNA wants the truth to spread amongst their fans.

There are rumours going around of TNA pursuing legal action against the trio, or maybe even against WWE, but word is that as of late Friday no decision was made.

Another rumour doing the rounds is that TNA published their statement just before the upcoming Royal Rumble, which Styles and Rumbles could be a part of, so that any potential move on the show could be thrown into jeopardy.
