WWE: All predictions for SummerSlam 2013

With just less than 72 hours to go for this year’s edition of SummerSlam, there is a lot of anticipation for the mega event. Old rivalries will be revisited, scores will be settled, and childhood dreams will be realized.

With the coveted WWE Championship and the World Championship on the line involving two underdogs, this can truly be “the day of reckoning” for these individuals. So what can happen at SummerSlam? Who will be victorious? Will Daniel Bryan finally realize his life-long dream of being a WWE champion?

In this article, I give my predictions regarding the outcome of all the bouts on the card.

Dean Ambrose vs Rob Van Dam for the WWE United States championship

Rob Van Dam

So you have two outstanding performers, one who made a red hot return last month, and the other who can only be defined as pro wrestling’s “Joker”-esque character fighting it out on the pre-show.

Of all the things that WWE has done which didn’t make any sense, this has to take the cherry (or maybe we’ll save that for Curtis Axel, with the Intercontinental champion not even being on the card! Yes WWE, he’s still employed).

There are very few logical reasons one can give about this decision, but let’s save that for a later time. I see RVD almost winning the belt, but for The Shield to interfere and Henry/Show making the save, leading to an impromptu second pre-show match (One hour for the pre show? Let’s cram the other guys in!).

Winner via DQ: RVD

Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow

Cody Rhodes

I absolutely love the SummerSlam card, with most of the matches getting my attention, especially the bout between Cody and Damien. It was a smart decision on the part of the creative to take this route, and turn the former best friends against each other.

Cody and Damien were one of the very few bright spots in the WWE some time ago, and their moment to shine is here (Step aside Cena. Or not). WWE can either go with Sandow picking up the victory, or give the win to Rhodes.

I’ll go with Rhodes just because I want to see them fight for the briefcase at the next PPV.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

Natalya (With The Funkadactyles) vs Brie Bella (With Nikki Bella and Eva Marie)

I don’t know if I should be happy that Natalya is finally on a PPV, or be sad that she will lose to Brie.

The Bellas are the “prima donnas” of the WWE, thanks to their high profile relationships with John Cena and Daniel Bryan. In short, it will be a 2 minute match with Brie picking up the victory (Ugh!).

Winner: Brie Bella
