WWE Backlash 2016: Best and Worst of the PPV
WWE Backlash wasn’t the best PPV this year. Not by a long shot. But with the limited resources that WWE had, they pulled off a decent show and contrary to their recent behavior, actually gave fans results they wanted.
When was the last time a Pay-Per-View ended with the fans actually happy for once? Also, the main event and the Intercontinental championship matches were off the charts.. Anyway, there’s a lot to talk about from this show which came to us from The Coliseum from Richmond, Virginia. So let's get right to it.
THE GOOD: Here's what we liked about today’s Pay-Per-View
1: Smackdown Live is now ‘phenomenal’
After defeating John Cena at Summerslam, A.J. Styles has been calling himself ‘the face that runs the place’. And right now he truly is the face that runs the place. Ambrose and Styles put on a modern day classic, and even Ambrose wrestled his best match in a long, long time.
If we may take some liberties, let's say that we’re glad that the best wrestler in the world is now finally the champion of the world’s largest wrestling empire in the whole world. And Ambrose, who had fallen from grace in the eyes of wrestling fans because of the quality of his in-ring work also had a chance to shine. We’re sure their rematch will be really phenomenal too.
