Seth Rollins and The Miz have been feuding now since before Christmas when it was The Miz who was behind The Shield's first reunion in more than three years. The Miz and Rollins have been embroiled in a feud over the past few months centering around the Intercontinental Championship.

Rollins won the title back at WrestleMania in a triple threat match that also included Finn Balor and Miz was then moved over to the SmackDown brand two weeks later as part of the Superstar Shakeup. Over the past few weeks, the Championship picture has been dominated by Finn Balor and Samoa Joe but The Miz has cashed in his rematch clause this weekend at Backlash and will hope to take the Intercontinental Championship back to SmackDown Live.

The Miz has been in and around the Intercontinental Championship picture over the past few years, so much so that he now looks strange without the title around his waist. Given that the United States Championship match should be Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy it's highly unlikely that Miz will be able to take the other mid-card Championship back over to SmackDown Live.

This is WWE and if there is a way for The Miz to win the title then it will be easily considered an option. The Miztourage could easily feature in this match since this pay-per-view is now brand exclusive, Miz looks like a Champion and it's easy to see him taking the title again this weekend to become a record-equalling nine-time Intercontinental Champion.
