Backstage news on Rollins' return match, Lesnar renegotiating contract?
- Seth Rollins successfully underwent a surgery to his knee and is on course to a healthy recovery. The duration of him being on the sidelines still stands at around 6-9 months and his return is sure to be a received with some aplomb.
His injury, however, proved to be a major setback for the WWE – that initiated the process of rewriting all of the storylines they had thought of. Seth Rollins was speculated to drop his title to Reigns at Survivor Series and then move onto a feud with his mentor Triple H for WrestleMania 32.
Although the WrestleMania plans have now been canned, according to Cagesideseats, Rollins is set to return as a babyface and sqaure off against Triple H at next year’s SummerSlam.
It all makes sense from a storyline perspective and is the logical option considering that’s the WWE Universe wants to see the implosion too.
When it comes to Triple H’s WrestleMania status, he is now without an opponent to face, as the Rock is not going to be wrestling at the Dallas show due to insurance issues regarding his movie.
Both of Triple H’s possible WM 32 matches have gone down the drain and it seems he may not be competing at the grand stage of WM 32 in Dallas next year. The most likely option now is for Triple H to wait until his protege returns as a babyface to have the much-anticipated feud.
It should also be noted that, Rollins was booked for a turn en route to WrestleMania, which makes his babyface return a sure shot possibility.
- As soon as Rollins got injured, speculations began circulating like wildfire as to how WWE made some frantic phone calls to top stars such as Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Brock Lesnar to make an impromptu return.
Although we wouldn’t be seeing Bryan and Cena anytime soon, there is a possibility that we may witness the Beast come make an appearance.
Reports suggest that WWE have re-negotiated with Brock Lesnar regarding his contract and have come to an agreement to add extra dates to his schedule – that also includes more money in the process.
Lesnar’s latest stint in the WWE was subject to an exteremly lucrative deal – that might have gotten even more sweeter for the Beast. WWE are making sure they utilize the starpower that comes along with Lesnar, and at the same time, also make sure he’s happy and content.
