Mike Johnson of PWInsider has revealed that people backstage are strongly pushing for the speculated match to happen. Johnson, as part of a Q&A, was asked about Strowman and the huge match. He said that even though the match is not confirmed, Vince’s is strongly behind Strowman and could push the match for the show in Dallas.
On the reports of an Undertaker and Strowman match, Johnson shot down the possibility by saying that the reason the Wyatts were booked to get over the Dudleys so strongly was the feud with Brock Lesnar.
He said that the Strowman-Lesnar match is not a sure-shot possibility and that the Beast could possibly end up facing Bray or Luke Harper.
Strowman’s in-ring credentials are quite raw and the Blacksheep has mostly been involved in tag situations, which makes everyone think that Lesnar is too high profile an opponent for Braun.
Johnson agreed but said that Vince is quite impressed with Strowman and sees a consistent money-maker in the giant.
He added that Strowman’s character is such that he just can’t be knocked down and is being portrayed as a mighty force. Kicks and punches too wouldn't weaken him and in recent weeks, Strowman isn’t even bending to pick his opponents up.
All of these character traits have been decided by the management and Vince McMahon. In spite of the lack of experience, WWE believes that putting Strowman in big match situations would only improve him for good.
