Backstage update on the U.S. title, Paige to be punished for dropping the 'f bomb'?

The fate of the U.S. title hangs in the balance

- John Cena’s much hyped up hiatus has created a lot of problems for the WWE officials as the status of the U.S. title hangs in the balance.

From the reports coming in from backstage, the plans surrounding the U.S title for the upcoming RAW episode are up in the air as the WWE has no real clue which way to go. As far as Cena’s time off and the status of the title on the long run goes, WWE wants the championship to be with a star who belongs in the upper rung of its proceedings.

They want the title to remain at the top of the card which makes it easier for Cena to get slotted into a feud on his return. The star to hold the belt until Cena’s return has not been finalized up until now, but the likeliest of options in the current scenario would be Dolph Ziggler and the backstage inputs also suggest to Ziggler being the next U.S champ.

It is the best alternative the WWE has at the moment considering the fact that Ziggler too is a workhorse who could continue the string of impressive title defenses on a weekly basis. Also, his feud with Cena writes itself and doesn’t need any build up of sorts.

- The WWE has been quite generous in giving the spotlight to the Divas as of late and they have been doing a fairly decent job at generating some hype surrounding the division.

Hell In a Cell was originally supposed to have a triple threat Divas title match featuring Nikki Bella, the champ Charlotte and Paige. Paige, though, has embroiled herself in an ‘f-bomb’ controversy which has landed her in the bad books of the WWE officials backstage. Reports suggest that Paige was ousted from the match due to some backstage heat coming her way.

At the moment, these are unconfirmed reports, but the heat has said to have originated after the ‘Anti-Diva’ dropped the f-word during a recent Q&A session on Facebook. That was not the only instance she broke WWE’s dictate over the use of the f-word, as she interrupted a Seth Rollins and Sam Roberts interview by dropping the dreaded f-word again.

Her removal from the title match seems to be the repercussions of her uncontrollable outbursts if the rumors are to be believed.
