WWE Backstage viewership decreases sharply in the absence of CM Punk
CM Punk’s absence from this week’s WWE Backstage has seen the viewership of the show plummet by 33% to 121,000 viewers. The former WWE Champion shocked the world when he agreed to become a part of WWE Backstage as an analyst two weeks ago and then finally made his much-hyped appearance on the show last week.
As a result of him being in the analyst panel, the show’s viewership rose to 180,000, which was an 80% rise from the episode aired on the 12th of November (viewership of 100,000).
Viewership falls without Punk
This week, however, CM Punk didn’t appear on the show and the viewership fell to 121,000 and while that might be more than the numbers of the first two weeks, respectively, it is 33% less than when Punk appeared.
This week’s show had Triple H as the special guest but Punk wasn’t signed to appear. The former Straight Edge Superstar is only set to appear on some episodes but we can’t help but imagine as to how incredible it would have been to see both Punk and Triple H on the same show, discussing WWE together.
It would be safe to assume that last week’s number would have been easily beaten if that had happened.
