According to Showbuzz Daily, CM Punk's return to WWE Backstage gave the show a much needed boost for their fifth episode on FS1. The November 19th edition of WWE Backstage averaged 180,000 viewers, an increase of 80,000 viewers from last week's November 12th show.

This week's edition of WWE Backstage focused primarily on CM Punk's return to his first WWE related platform since his departure from the company in January 2014.

The former WWE Champion was interviewed by Renee Young regarding his relationship with the company, although Punk made it clear that his current business arrangement is through FOX and not WWE.

CM Punk held true to his Twitter comments that he would offer fair praise and criticism to WWE, leading to positive comments about the Women's Division and NXT, as well as critiques of Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin's 'Big Dog' segment from last week's episode of SmackDown.

WWE Backstage finished 104th for Tuesday night cable with .10 in the 18-49 demographic while another WWE program, Total Divas, finished 95th with 295,000 viewers and .12 in the 18-49 demographic.

Viewership for WWE Backstage started off well enough for the two preview episodes, but quickly fell to less than 50,000 viewers for the show's official premiere on November 5.

The show's viewership bounced back last week and WWE Backstage became the talk of the wrestling world as Punk made his surprise debut on the FS1 show.
