WWE: Bad News Barrett out with long term injury, Intercontinental title vacant for Battleground
Of late, it seems as if there is a cloud of injury hovering around the WWE locker room as a few of the superstars have been suffering from injuries. And Bad News Barrett has bad news for himself rather than the fans as he will be out of action for several months as announced on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
The British Brawler has separated his shoulder and will be sidelined for quite a long time which led to WWE’s decision of vacating the Intercontinental titles. The championship belts will be on the line at the Battleground PPV as the new champion will be decided through a Battle Royal which be held at the upcoming pay-per-view.
Barrett’s suffered the injury during Smackdown TV tapings when Jack Swagger attacked him after his match against Dean Ambrose. The Real American threw him into the barricades twice which resulted in a bad ending for the former IC champion.
Barrett becomes the second unfortunate superstar to lose his title due to uncalled injuries after Daniel Bryan. Bryan’s neck injury forced him out of action which was the reason behind WWE’s move of stripping him off his WWE titles.
And Barrett’s fortune seemingly has followed the footsteps of the former WWE World Heavyweight champion.
