WWE banning Wade from King Barrett's name, big news on Lana wrestling
Wade Barrett is apparently no more because WWE has decided to drop the idea of using his first name. Wrestling Observer Radio reports the news and it’s probably no surprise to anyone who has watched WWE regularly as his first name was dropped for the Bad News Barrett gimmick last year which transitioned to King Barrett a couple of months ago. There’s was no specific reason as to why it was done, but WWE has done that sort of thing in the last few years with guys like Cesaro losing Antonio as a first name and Big E dropping Langston as a last name. When Neville got called up to the main roster, they stopped calling him Adrian Neville too.
While it hasn’t been pushed on TV that much, the preview of Barrett’s Battleground match against R-Truth states that the crown is on the line. And there’s been speculation that Barrett may go back to the “Bad News” gimmick after his Kickoff Pre-show match against R-Truth at WWE Battleground.
Lana is a diva that WWE has really big plans for, but she hasn’t had an official match. WWE are now advertising Lana to team with on-screen boyfriend Dolph Ziggler against Rusev and Summer Rae in a mixed tag match at the WWE live event on September 4th in Hampton, Virginia. Also advertised for that event is Neville vs.Sheamus with the Money In the Bank briefcase on the line and John Cena vs. Kevin Owens in a Street Fight.
