WWE Bash in Berlin Results: Unexpected title change; World record broken; Brutal ending to CM Punk's grudge match
WWE Bash in Berlin kicked off with the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. It has been eight years since KO has held the Universal Title and, according to Michael Cole, this was his first world title match in almost two years.
WWE Bash in Berlin Results (August 31, 2024):

WWE Bash in Berlin Results: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens - Undisputed WWE Championship match
The match started off with Owens getting the first takedown but Cody dodged the senton before KO countered a springboard move from the champ. Cody countered the disaster kick and hit a senton before Rhodes missed the Cross Rhodes. Owens was sent outside but dodged the dive before sending the champ into the apron and getting the cannonball.
Cody got the dive on his second try before Owens came back with the Figure Four leglock. KO sent the champ off the apron and into the barricades before getting a splash on the floor. Cody and KO took each other out with clotheslines in the ring before Owens caught the champ with a German Suplex. Rhodes got the Cody Cutter for a near fall before KO got a near fall of his own with a top rope rolling senton.
KO missed the stunner and took the Cross Rhodes before coming back with the top rope brainbuster. Rhodes lost his footing after his knee was hurt and Owens hesitated but then kicked him in the knee on the outside. Owens hesitated again with the apron powerbomb before getting the stunner in the ring.
Cody hit the Cross Rhodes twice but took the stunner before getting his knees up for the Swanton Bomb. The champ hit another Cross Rhodes before getting the win.

WWE Bash in Berlin Results: Unholy Union (c) vs. Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair - WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match
Belair was set to start the match but Fyre and Dawn both remained in the ring, causing Cargill to enter as well and the match started with an all-out brawl. The champs dragged Belair down by the hair, isolating her in the ring and getting some big moves in the corner. Bianca dodged a dropkick and sent Fyre outside before tagging Cargill.
Cargill came in and got a superkick on Dawn before Bianca came back in. Belair took the KLR Bomb/Reverse STO combo but Jade broke up the pin. Jade and Bianca hit the double military press before Belair missed the KOD. Cargill sent Fyre into the barricades before Belair got the spinebuster on Dawn. Cargill joined the EST for the DDT/German Suplex combo before getting the big win!
Result: Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair def. Unholy Union to become the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions

Drew McIntyre attacked CM Punk before the following match and sent him outside the ring before dropping him on the German announce desk. The two brawled their way to the ring and Drew unloaded on Punk before whipping him with the strap. The ref finally managed to get the strap on Drew before McIntyre himself put it around Punk's wrist and yelled at the referee to start the match.
WWE Bash in Berlin Results: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre - Strap Match
Punk was sent outside and Drew used the strap to drag him into the barricades and then back inside the ring before whipping him with the strap. Drew touched the first of four turnbuckles before Punk lifted him up and hit a sudden GTS. Punk was about to touch the turnbuckle but then turned away and hit a big move before the match headed outside the ring.
Drew missed the Futureshock DDT on the announce desk as Punk flipped him on the desk and whipped him before taking a table out. Drew took Punk out and sent the table back under the ring before getting a steel chair and attacking Punk with it. Punk tried for some strikes but Drew raked him in the eyes before slamming him onto the chair in the ring.
Punk's face was bloodied as Drew set up the now-deformed chair in the corner. Punk got the table back out and set it up at ringside before Drew got the Claymore in the ring! McIntyre got three turnbuckles but Punk dragged him head-first into the chair in the corner. Punk got to three turnbuckles himself but Drew sent him through the table outside.
Punk and Drew both got three buckles but then traded strikes in the center of the ring, resetting the count. Punk locked in the Sharpshooter and Drew tapped out but it doesn't count in a strap match. Punk got up and tried for the buckles but Drew got him with a neckbreaker. Drew took Punk's bracelet out of his tights and wore it before getting the Claymore.
Punk came back with the GTS twice before hitting a third! Punk had three buckles in his favor before getting a fourth GTS in a row, his fifth in the match! Punk stole back the bracelet before hitting the fourth buckle and got the win!
Result: CM Punk def. Drew McIntyre

We learned that WWE set a new record for a worldwide arena show with tonight's turnout for Bash in Berlin.
WWE Bash in Berlin Results: Judgment Day vs. Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley
Mysterio and Priest kicked off the match and Dom tried for some strikes but was taken out with a big boot before Damian unloaded on him with chops and a big elbow. Dom was getting mauled in the ring but managed to flee and tag Liv. Morgan came in and took a fallaway slam before Rhea unloaded on her in the middle of the ring.
Morgan took a vertical suplex before escaping the ring, as Damian dragged Dom back in the ring. Dom was sent outside before Priest dropped him on the apron. Liv distracted Priest and allowed Dom to push Damian into the announce desk and the steel steps outside. Liv got a cheap shot on Damian before Dom got a tornado DDT for a near fall.
Liv got another cheap shot before Damian got back up and hit the Broken Arrow on Dom. Ripley and Liv were back in and Rhea got some big moves before going to attack Dom. Dom held his arms out for a hug but Rhea laughed it off and took him down with a clothesline and a side slam.
Liv took a dropkick before coming back and helping Dom get out of a Riptide. Morgan hit the Codebreaker before getting a near fall with the ObLIVion. Priest came back and took Dom out with a clothesline before Liv broke up the pin. Dom and Liv took a double Razor's Edge from Rhea and Damian before Priest set up for the chokeslam.
JD McDonnagh and Carlito interfered and the distraction allowed Liv to send Rhea into the barricades with a Sunset Flip. Balor came in and took Damian down, allowing Dom to hit the 619 and the Frog Splash for a near fall.
Rhea and Liv were back in and McDonagh distracted Ripley before Damain took out JD, Carlito, and Balor at ringside. Dom hit a dive on Priest and took a clothesline on the announce desk before Liv took the riptide in the ring, letting Rhea pick up the win.

WWE Bash in Berlin Results: Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton - WWE World Heavyweight Championship match
Gunther was in control early on and got some big chops and strikes before the match headed outside and Randy sent the champ into the steel steps. Randy went after the injured arm and ran him shoulder-first into the steps before dropping Gunther on the announce desk four times.
Back in the ring, Gunther's arm was bruised as Randy kept up the offense to the limb. Randy got the powerslam before hitting the Superplex. Gunther came back with some strikes but took the Draping DDT. Randy was setting up for the RKO but the champ turned it into a German Suplex.
Gunther got the takedown and the splash but Randy managed to kick out. Randy blocked the powerbomb but Gunther managed to hit it on the second try before getting another near fall. Randy countered another powerbomb into the RKO but Gunther kicked out!
Randy cleared the German announce desk before failing to drop Gunther on the steel steps. Randy got the other half of the steps and set it up in front of the announce desk before slamming the champ's head into it. Randy used the steps to lift Gunther and put the champ through the announce desk before posing on top of the steps.
Orton dragged the champ back to the ring but Gunther locked in the sleeper hold. Randy managed to break out of it once but Gunther blocked the RKO and dropped him again, locking in the sleeper a second time. Randy struggled for a while but Gunther managed to knock him out before getting the win!
Result: Gunther def. Randy Orton to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

After the match, Gunther shook hands with Randy Orton before addressing the crowd in German as WWE Bash in Berlin went off the air.
