WWE: Batista speaks about Daniel Bryan's addition to WrestleMania match and a possible return
WWE superstar Dave Batista, who took a brief pause from his wrestling career to promote his upcoming movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, was featured in this latest interview by the WWE.
‘The Animal’ who plays Drax the Destroyer, in the latest Marvel adaptation, talked about Daniel Bryan’s addition to WrestleMania 30 main event and his probability of returning to the WWE.
The following are the highlights of the new WWE interview with Batista:
On Daniel Bryan being added to the WrestleMania 30 main event:
“Oh, I was super excited. I was super excited, because, you know, we needed that element. Even speaking from a fan’s standpoint, for me, it’s hard to get sucked into a [bad guy vs. bad guy] match. We needed a hero, man, and Daniel Bryan was the biggest hero in the company. I knew this was going to be good. It’s so much better when the fans have an emotional investment. And they were so emotionally invested in Daniel Bryan, and they were so absorbed in their hatred for me that I knew it was going to be good stuff.”
On the possibility of returning to WWE:
“We’ve already been talking about that. We were talking about when I would come back before I even left. I don’t feel like my career is over. I felt better leaving this time than when I got in, because I came in with an injury and I left feeling healthy as can be. It’s hard for me to leave now because I feel like I was just hitting my stride. I think a lot of people forgot I was away from wrestling for four years, and it took me a couple months to really start getting in touch with the audience because it’s a completely different audience, man. It was really weird for me at first. I just started finding my stride, so it’s weird for me to leave, but I don’t feel like my career is even close to over, man. I got a lot of good matches, and hopefully it’ll work out.”
