WWE Battleground: Rob Van Dam injury saw him drop out of the Battle Royal
As we witnessed at the Battleground pay-per-view, the Battle Royal match for the Intercontinental title went ahead with 19 superstars instead of 20 with The Miz outsmarting all his opponents and winning the IC title.
Although there were no explanations given to the fans during the broadcast, we could clearly see the one person missing from the match which was Rob Van Dam.
Even WWE’s official site did not provide any update on that matter. However, in the recap of the match on WWE.com, the news on his injury was finally revealed.
As Sheamus and Ziggler squared off, Miz lurked in wait on the arena floor, still in contention. Pushing their bodies to the limit, both Superstars fought for the title. Ultimately, Ziggler eliminated Sheamus and seemingly claimed another championship. Quickly seizing the opportunity to strike, Miz jumped back in the ring and eliminated Ziggler to become a three-time Intercontinental Champion.
Although scheduled to be in the bout, RVD did not compete due to injury. Stay with WWE.com for more on RVD's condition.
We are still uncertain why the WWE chose to reveal the news in this way instead of giving any info about it during the broadcast.
