WWE Crown Jewel 2019: 4 Potential matches for Roman Reigns
Crown Jewel is on the horizon and WWE is gearing up to deliver some huge matches at their fourth major pay-per-view event in Saudi Arabia.
WWE has always worked hard to bring celebrities and legends to perform in the Kingdom, and this event will be no different, as we will see a diverse set of competitors take to the ring in an attempt to entertain the audience.
WWE has already booked two blockbuster matches with Brock Lesnar defending his WWE Championship against Cain Velasquez and Braun Strowman taking on professional boxer Tyson Fury.
Apart from that, a huge 5-on-5 Tag Team Match between Team Hogan and Team Flair has also been announced. A nine team Tag Team Turmoil Match for the WWE World Cup will also be featured at the event.
One Superstar who still doesn’t have a Crown Jewel match is Roman Reigns. Reigns is one of WWE’s biggest draws, and has previously had a Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar in Saudi Arabia.
Keeping that in mind, we look at four potential Crown Jewel matches for Roman Reigns.
#1 Luke Harper
Luke Harper had been away from television for a long time after Erick Rowan suffered an injury during their SmackDown Tag Team Championship reign last year.
While Rowan returned to partner up with Daniel Bryan, Harper remained far away from WWE for an even longer period. After Rowan broke away from Bryan and attacked Roman Reigns, we saw Harper return to help out his former tag team partner in putting 'The Big Dog' away at Clash of Champions.
The move allowed Rowan to score one of the biggest singles victories of his career. Rowan and Harper teamed up once again in a losing effort against Bryan and Reigns at Hell in a Cell.
While it seems like Reigns is done with Rowan, it’s possible that he still has a score to settle with Harper, as he was the primary reason why Reigns lost his Clash of Champions match.
Harper has now been drafted to SmackDown, while his partner Rowan has moved to RAW. This could provide WWE an opportunity to book a match between Reigns and Harper at Crown Jewel.
As Reigns simply needs an opponent for the big event, Harper could prove to be the ideal big man, as a loss would not hamper him in any way. Harper has already shown interest in leaving the company. In such a case, it seems fitting that WWE could use Harper to once again take the fall for one of wrestling's biggest stars.
