WWE: Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan – The future of WWE
Summer is always an interesting time in the world of WWE. New storylines are written and new angles are played out, while WWE often introduces new characters as we head to Summerslam. The other interesting part of this is WWE’s interest in pushing new stars, others excluding the Cenas, Ortons and Sheamuses.
How many of us remember WWE pushing a certain CM Punk around this time two years ago? Or Nexus the year before? All of those became an instant hit, and the fans received those angles in a positive way. This year, WWE is ready to pull the trigger on two individuals, who have proved time and again that they’re the best at what they do, and are the future of the business. Both of these individuals have received great reviews from the management and their peers, which makes their rise to stardom all the more inevitable. These two individuals are Daniel Bryan and the WWE United States champion, Dean Ambrose.
The two ‘indy darlings’ have slowly made their way into the WWE, and ever since WrestleMania, both of these individuals have been on their way to superstardom in the WWE. Although Bryan is a former World Heavyweight champion, his run was more than forgettable, which ended with him losing the title in 18 seconds at WrestleMania.
Dean Ambrose on the other hand has been a part of the impressive run of The Shield, being undefeated for months before winning the WWE United States heavyweight championship, thus cementing his claim of the fastest rising star in the WWE. With both of these individuals being a part of their respective Money in the Bank ladder matches, it is more than likely that they’d retrieve the briefcase, thus earning the opportunity to cash it in at any time for the WWE and the World titles. So now, the question remains: Will Bryan and Ambrose make their date with destiny this Sunday?
Daniel Bryan has been in this situation before. He won the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2011 and cashed in his briefcase when the Big Show defeated Mark Henry and was down for the count. Bryan held the title till WrestleMania where he lost it to Sheamus. Since then, Bryan has been stuck in the tag team and the mid card division, but has been the most over WWE superstar in the past few months. This Sunday, Bryan will have a chance to do it all over again by winning the ‘All Stars’ Money in the Bank ladder match and cashing it in on John Cena. With the rumored feud between Cena and Bryan set for Summerslam, one can only imagine that Bryan will win the briefcase and will cash it in at Summerslam for the WWE title.
Dean Ambrose on the other hand has been successful in breaking away from the pack and having a successful singles career. Ambrose is seen as the future of the WWE, and is considered to be the top heel in the company. Employees of the WWE ranging from JBL to Mick Foley have expressed their high opinions about Ambrose, and how he will soon be the WWE Champion. All of that can start this Sunday, as Ambrose takes part in the Money in the Bank ladder match for the World title. With Ambrose already being the United States champion, he can be pushed directly into the main event scene. Dean Ambrose has impressed everybody with his work ethic and his in – ring psychology. It will be interesting to see if WWE gives him the baton, since he has been relatively new on the main roster.
With Daniel Bryan and Dean Ambrose being the odds on favorites to win the Money in the bank ladder matches for the WWE and World titles respectively, the WWE has a chance to pull the trigger on two of the most over performers in the WWE. Daniel Bryan is perhaps the most beloved babyface in the WWE, while Dean Ambrose is arguably the best heel on the scene. With WWE needing fresh faces to shake things up, there is no better chance than to let Bryan and Ambrose take the ball and run with it as we head into a very interesting Summer. We have to wait and see if WWE will take that chance or not, but it sets up an interesting scenario which can make the WWE a whole lot intriguing in the coming weeks.
