WWE Elimination Chamber 2014: 4 swerves for the main event
Ever since Randy Orton turned heel, the Authority have become his parent figures and like a spoilt brat Orton has been throwing tantrums round the clock. Randy Orton has been far away from invincible in his stint as a champion and a heel. But it’s a good thing that his whiny nature has made the audience boo him more which is great in any case for a heel. But in the coming episode of Raw Orton should be the last man standing. Even though the WWE has discarded this tradition on few occasions, but still the tradition this time should continue to show that the last man standing tall on raw doesn’t really stand tall in the PPV.
In the past few weeks, Orton has lost to Cena, Bryan and Cesaro- who are three of the five opponents he will face this Sunday. This means that a recently returned Sheamus might score a win from his own side as well this week. But at the end of the show Orton and the Authority need to stand tall, even if they’re united or divided. This should lead to a will they/won’t they angle of whether the Authority will again aid Orton or screw Bryan. As both these scenarios will seem repetitive, here are a few swerves that can take place.
1. Batista interferes
Batista can be the one making the save for Orton this time and this will trigger the Animal’s heel turn and Bryan will finally go on to win the title at the grandest stage of them all and hence get a Wrestlemania moment.
It is a well-deserved moment for the most popular wrestler in WWE today and a full time wrestler.
2. The Authority backstabs Orton
There were some reports that WWE is going to turn Orton face and the Authority turning on him will only justify those reports. But at this juncture of the storyline, this seems far-fetched, so it’ll be a bit of a swerve if the Authority decides to trample their spoilt brat.
