Elimination Chamber 2015- 5 Promising developments
In retrospect, this PPV was all about the future of the company which is quickly becoming the present. The Pay Per View wasn’t about a lot of great overall matches, it was all about the characters. The characters that will shape the picture of the company in the weeks to come. It had all three former members of the Shield, it had one NXT member and it had a former Reality Show participant.
All in all, it was a night of statements. One was more memorable than the rest. The future is now.
Here are the five promising developments from the second PPV of the month-
1.A Champion without a Championship
Dean Ambrose shocked everyone. he made everyone speechless but delightfully so. In a shocking turn of event he actually made you believe that he’s become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This would have been a juggernaut on social media. The reaction the mostly dead crowd gave was mammoth and spoke for itself. Lawler even compared Ambrose to Stone Cold. The beauty lay in the details. It was heartbreaking to see him cling to the title when The Authority tried to snatch it away from him.
He did not win but this wild energy is still here to stay, in the main event picture. WWE had a screwy finish to this match but they protected both Rollins and Ambrose. And Reigns got a rare positive reaction. He looked good in coming to the aid of his brother.
2.Owens fights
No statement was as dominant as the one made by Kevin Owens. He fought till the end and he wasn’t there to take the fall. he was there to indicate the fall of a man who calls himself ‘The Champ’. Owens made this night his own. He outclassed every other performer on the show, including a certain John Cena.
WWE has big plans for him. He pinned Cena clean. That’s like a once in a year moment. Not many have been able to do that. Not even anyone from The Shield. Kevin Owens is the next big thing, after all that we witnessed a few hours ago.
3.Ryback is a Champion
Ryback graced our screens 3 years ago and no gimmick could get him over properly but finally it seems the Big Guy is catching a break. After many failed pushes, this night happened and for the first time in a long time, Ryback won a Championship.
This marks his first Singles’ championship in the company. he is now the Intercontinental Champion- a championship that has long suffered. But it seems with WWE’s recent theme being to make it relevant again, it may be helpful for Ryback. And the audience welcomed this change. They welcomed this victory.
