WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 is about to witness two matches which are set to take place in the fatal structure after which the WWE pay-per-view is named. The brainchild of Eric Bischoff, The Elimination Chamber has seen several Championships being defended within its hellacious walls. This pay-per-view will be no different.
Daniel Bryan is set to defend his WWE Championship in the match against 5 other competitors -- Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles and last but not the least -- Kofi Kingston. Mustafa Ali was supposed to be a part of the match, but was replaced by Kofi Kingston so that he could take some time away to deal with his nagging injuries.
This week's episode of SmackDown Live saw all six superstars battle in a Gauntlet match to determine who would enter the match in the coveted number 6 position. In a battle of epic proportions, Kofi Kingston set a record by staying in the match for 60 minutes, and defeating Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy, and Samoa Joe. He was attacked by Joe following the elimination, and after a battle with AJ Styles, was forced to tap out to the Calf Crusher. In the end, Orton won the match when he hit Styles with an RKO out-of-nowhere.
The performance by Kingston built him up as a possible winner of the new hemp WWE Championship introduced by Daniel Bryan.
Kingston has been in the WWE for a number of years, but in matches such as these, he has never been more than another person taking up space, while performing some amazing moves. If this performance is anything to go by though, WWE might have something in mind for him in the near future.
In this match, however, it looks like WWE Champion Daniel Bryan will end up retaining his title. He won the Championship recently and has since gone on to change it up with a custom title. With his recent gimmick and a henchman in the form of Erick Rowan, Bryan is currently on the receiving end of a big push by WWE.
He might come up with some nefarious means to win the match.
With Orton in a match, things are never certain though, and he may win inside the Chamber as well.
At the end of the day, while nothing is certain, it looks like Kingston's story might be developed heading into WrestleMania 35. At least, that's what the fans want.
But for now, Daniel Bryan looks like the obvious winner of the match -- possibly with some help from another returning Wyatt family member.
