The strangest match at WWE Elimination Chamber had to be the Intercontinental Championship match. Bobby Lashley defended his title and teamed up with Lio Rush in a handicap match, meaning that Balor didn't have to pin Lashley to win the title, which was exactly what Finn Balor did.

We now know it was done to facilitate two things. Bobby Lashley was a transitional Champion and was given the belt so that it could then be out on Balor and also as a way to end his partnership with Lio Rush so he could align with Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre once again later in the night.
