WWE Exclusive: New Day meets WWE Universe in Mumbai, shoots SmackDown Live segment
The WWE India tryouts are on in full swing and The New Day has graced the country not merely to interact with the participants but also to connect with the WWE Universe. On the heels of KofiMania, hundreds thronged to Hamleys in High Street Phoenix, Mumbai, for a chance to meet their Heroes.
The New Day has been the center of attention in recent times, owing to Kofi Kingston's meteoric rise in popularity after his extraordinary performance at the Elimination Chamber.
Many fans are disgruntled at the fact that he was robbed of an opportunity to compete at WWE Fastlane by Vince McMahon (who replaced Kofi Kingston with Kevin Owens in his WWE Championship bout with Daniel Bryan), but longtime fans can probably guess that something bigger may be in store for the veteran.
Many fans had waited hours to get autographs from The New Day and the trio was patient with them all, as they were drowned in 'New Day Rocks' chants from those in attendance.
Much to their delight, the New Day even shot a segment for SmackDown Live, where they informed the WWE Universe that they wouldn't be on the show. But they added that they were all primed to return at WWE Fastlane, which will stream this weekend on the WWE Network and be telecast on Monday, only on SONY TEN 1 and SONY TEN 1 HD.
Earlier in the day, The New Day conducted a workshop with the 60 male and 20 female hopefuls, enlightening them on how to become WWE Superstars. According to those in attendance, they received a thunderous pop when they arrived for the same.
This is not The New Day's first time in India, and in fact, this is the third time that they've come to the country. The first time was at the WWE Live Event in 2016 and the second time was a special visit from just Kofi Kingston and Big E.
