WWE Extreme Rules 2015: Live coverage and results

WWE Extreme Rules live

Hello everyone and welcome to our live coverage of Extreme Rules 2015. This is the first pay-per-view since the phenomenal Wrestlemania 31 event last month and WWE is at the AllState Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, where we are in for some exciting feuds.

Tonight, the Viper, Randy Orton faces Seth Rollins in a Steel Cage match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship while John Cena goes one-on-one against Rusev in a Wrestlemania rematch for the United States title. Who will emerge victorious? Stay tuned for more updates.

Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton in a Steel Cage match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

8:05 AM: Both men started aggressively, but Seth got the upper hand, and worked on Randy Orton as Kane looked on. Orton tried to turn things around, but Rollins connected with the running powerbomb in the corner as he kept pressure on Orton.

8:10 AM: Rollins tried to escape as Orton slingshot Rollins onto the cage. Orton managed to drag Rollins back, and as Orton tried to go for a powerslam, Rollins held onto the ropes and climbed the cage. 

8:15 AM: Rollins managed to connect with a knee to the head of Orton, but Orton retaliated with a powerslam for a nearfall of his own. J & J Security interfered, but Orton managed to knock them off the cage by ramming Rollins into the cage.

8:20 AM: Orton signalled for the RKO, but connected with a Pedigree instead for a nearfall. Orton then went for the punt kick, but Rollins countered with an enzuigiri. Both men tried to escape through the cage door, but Kane rammed the door into their heads. 

8:25 AM: Kane came into the ring and went for Rollins, but J & J Security interfered. Kane chokeslammed both of them, and then chokeslammed Orton as Rollins tried to escape. Kane caught him with another chokeslam and placed him on Orton, but Orton kicked out at 2. Orton then hit Kane with an RKO, and Rollins then connected with an RKO on Orton, and maanaged to escape through the cage door!

Backstage, Byron interviewed Rusev, who said that Cena stole his title. Lana then said that the final chapter in the Rusev – Cena saga will unfold at WWE Payback PPV, where Rusev will face Cena in an “I Quit” match.

In – ring segment with Bo Dallas and Ryback

 

7:45 AM: Bo Dallas made his way out as the crowd cheered. Dallas then took shots at Chicago and the crowd, saying they were number one in not taking a shower and showing up to arenas. Bo continued to rip on the fans, as Ryback made his way down to the ring to a big pop.

7:50 AM: Bo attacked Ryback, but Ryback turned things around and ended the segment with a Shell Shocked to Bo Dallas, as the crowd chanted “Feed me more”.

Backstage segment with Randy Orton and Kane

Backstage, Orton confronted Kane, and said he understood why Kane traded his mask for a suit. He then told Kane that The Authority would throw him out once their purpose was served. Orton ended the segment by saying although Kane forgot who he was, he still remembered.

Big Show vs. Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing Match

7:20 AM: Show immediately took Roman to the corner as Roman tried to fight back. Both men fight near the ringside area as Roman sent Show into the ringpost. Show was stunned, as Roman connected with a dropkick sending Show to his knees.

7:25 AM: More back and forth action as Roman brought a table into the ring. Show decked Roman with kendo stick shots, as Roman retaliated with chair shots to Show. Roman hit a DDT on the chair as the referee started the count. Show quickly turned the tables with a KO punch, but Roman made it back to his feet to break the count.

7:30 AM: Roman connected with a huge Samoan drop, sending Big Show through the table, but Show made it up before the 10 count. Show went to the top, but Roman crotched him and brought him down!

7:35 AM: Roman connected with multiple Superman punches, but Show put him through two tables on the outside with a big chokeslam, but Reigns managed to get up before the 10 count to break the count! Show then tried to spear Roman through a table in the corner, but Roman moved, sending Show through the table! Roman then connected with a spear as the referee started the 10 count.

 

7:38 AM: Roman then speared Show through the barricade outside the ring, but both men managed to beat the count. Show then tried to chokeslam Roman through the announcer’s table, but Roman turned things around with a spear, sending Show through the Spanish announce table!

7:40 AM: Big Show managed to get to his feet before the 10 count, as Roman flipped the announcer’s table onto Show, pinning him beneath the table as the referee counted to 10.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Backstage, Rusev was shown yelling at Lana near The Authority’s office.

Nikki Bella vs. Naomi for the WWE Divas Title

7:05 AM: Both the divas started off aggressively, but Nikki got the upper hand in the exchange. Noami turned things around and drilled Nikki with an elbow for a nearfall.

 

7:10 AM: Nikki countered a Rear View attempt and connected with an Alabama Slam for a nearfall. Naomi turned things around and hit a DDT for yet another nearfall.

7:15 AM: Nikki connected with another kick, as Brie decked Naomi as the referee was distracted, giving Nikki the opportunity to hit Rack Attack to pick up the victory.

Backstage interview with Roman Reigns

Backstage, Roman spoke about his match with Big Show, and said Show can’t keep him down. He then talked about beating Show later on tonight.

John Cena vs. Rusev in a Russian Chain Match for the WWE US Title

6:40 AM: Both men played tug of war before Rusev crushed Cena in the corner. Rusev touched the first two corners but Cena fought back. Cena then hit three corners before Rusev cut him off. Rusev then drilled Cena with rights and kicks as he took control of the match.

6:45 AM: Rusev suplexed Cena back in from the apron, as Rusev used the chain to hurt Cena. Rusev connected with a spinning heel kick and tagged three turnbuckles before Cena stopped him. 

6:50 AM: The crowd chanted for Lana as she acknowledged, but was sent to the back by Rusev, who looked ticked off. Cena tried to take advantage of the distraction with an AA, but Rusev connected with an Alabama Slam. Cena then locked Rusev in the STF and tried to tag the turnbuckles, but Rusev turned things around with an Accolade. 

6:55 AM: Cena powered out of the Accolade, as both the superstars touched three turnbuckles each. Both men looked at each other, and as Rusev rushed to tag the last turnbuckle, Cena pulled him with the chain and connected with the AA, and then tagged the last turnbuckle to pick up the victory.

Winner and still the WWE US champion: John Cena

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper (Cont.)

 

Backstage, The New Day were being interviewed when a car pulled over, as Luke Harper came stumbling out. Ambrose came down with a huge splash from the top of the car, taking out The New Day in the process.

6:30 AM: Both men fought their way back inside the arena, and brought various chairs inside the ring. Harper powerbombed Ambrose on a chair, while Ambrose turned things around by putting Harper through a pile of chairs.

6:35 AM: Ambrose connected with the Dirty Deeds to pick up the victory.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

 

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro vs. The New Day for the WWE Tag Team Championships

 

6:12 AM: Cesaro and Kidd came out to loud cheers as Kidd started things off with Kofi. Good back and forth action as Cesaro and Big E entered the ring. Cesaro showed off his impressive strength as he caught Big E in mid – air and scooped him. 

6:15 AM: More back and forth action as Kidd and Kofi traded shots. Kidd then sent Kofi to the floor and dove onto him! Back in the ring, Big E and Kofi worked over Kidd as Cesaro watched on.

6:20 AM: Cesaro came in with a head of steam as the crowd cheered him on. Cesaro connected with a backbreaker and went for the Cesaro Swing as Kidd dropkicked Kofi for a nearfall. 

6:25 AM: Kidd went for the Sharpshooter, but The New Day turned things around thanks to a distraction from Woods, when Kidd was in control. Kofi took advantage of the distraction and rolled Kidd up to pick up the victory.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus in a Kiss Me Arse match

 

5:55 AM: Ziggler threw rights to kick things off, but Sheamus took him down. Ziggler turned things around with a dropkick and then a DDT to take Sheamus down.

6:00 AM: Sheamus turned things around with a running knee lift and worked over Sheamus. Ziggler went for the Fameasser, but Sheamus countered it into a powerbomb and followed up with a clothesline. 

 

6:05 AM: Ziggler tried to gain some momentum, but Sheamus stopped him in his tracks. Ziggler rolled Sheamus up and hit a superkick for a nearfall. Sheamus turned the tables with a suplex and went for the Brogue Kick, as both superstars countered each other’s moves until Ziggler rolled Sheamus up with an inside cradle to pick up the victory.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

6:10 AM: Post match, Ziggler teased Sheamus and pulled his trunks down, as it looked like Sheamus would do it. Sheamus hit a low blow and a Brogue Kick, and then made Ziggler kiss his arse.

 

Segment with Kane, Seth Rollins and Triple H

5:50 AM: Kane and Seth Rollins argued backstage, as Triple H tried to talk some sense into the two.

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper in a Chicago Street Fight

5:35 AM: Ambrose attacked Harper on the aisle, and hit a suicide dive to kick things off. Ambrose whipped Harper into the steps and went for some steel chairs. Ambrose tried to suplex Harper on a chair, but Harper reversed it and suplexed Ambrose instead.

5:40 AM: Harper sent Ambrose crashing into a chair, and went at him with a kendo stick. Ambrose turned things around with an elbow, but Harper took him down with a clothesline.

 

5:45 AM: Both men fought backstage, as Ambrose decked Harper with a kendo stick. Harper tried to escape by crawling into a car, as Ambrose jumped into the car and took off! Both superstars might appear later in the show to finish the match.

Bad News Barrett vs. Neville

Both men went at it to kick off the match, as Barrett laid into Neville in the corner with kicks to the gut. Neville tried to fight back, but Barrett put him down and threw him into the barricade.

More back and forth action, as Barrett was in control of the match. Neville finally turned things around with a corkscrew moonsault, and then hit a German with a bridge for a nearfall. Barrett hit the Winds of Change and Wasteland, but Neville kicked out at 2!

Neville finally connected with the Red Arrow to pick up his first PPV victory.

Winner: Neville

In an update, it is being reported by PWI that Daniel Bryan hasn’t reached Chicago for the Extreme Rules PPV yet. Check back as we will update you with more information in a few hours.

Dolph Ziggler posted yet another cryptic tweet, which could imply that the “Showoff” is on his way out of the WWE!
