WWE News: Fans arranging a memorial for Chyna this Wednesday
A memorial celebration remembering former WWE star Chyna will be arranged by the folks at therealchyna.com this Wednesday. The event will start from 7:30 pm at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center in Redondo Beach, CA.
Following a video tribute to the former wrestler, the event will be kick-started by Speed painter Rock Demarco. The show will also feature artist performance by Coolio and Baby Bash. For the end, Paul Sorvino will be singing "Amazing Grace” with 25 piece choir.
Debuting in 1995, Chyna was the first women to enter the Royal Rumble match as well as the first female competitor to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship. However, her most famous WWE run was as a part of the famous "DX" stable.
But it was her post-WWE run, surrounded with controversies, which unfortunately followed her till her grave. WWE even disassociated her name from the company after the infamous sex tape release back in 2004, featuring her and another former WWE wrestler Sean Waltman.
After being released from WWE, she also had brief runs as a wrestler on both TNA and NJPW.
The former Women's Champion reportedly died back in April this year from an accidental overdose of a prescription sleeping pill and a tranquilizer.
After her passing, many quarters have expressed their view that she deserves to be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame but it remains to be seen if the powers that be will take that up and actually act on it.
