Fastlane 2019: Mandy Rose on the verge of creating a unique record in WWE
The Golden Goddess of SmackDown Live, Mandy Rose, will challenge the SmackDown Women's Champion, Asuka in a title match this Sunday at WWE Fastlane 2019. The female superstar earned this opportunity by pinning the Japanese superstar on an episode of SmackDown Live.
This will be the first time Mandy Rose will battle in a SmackDown Women's Championship match in her WWE career. With this achievement, Mandy Rose will create a unique record in WWE history.
By battling for the SmackDown Women's title, the former Absolution member will complete a unique treble of competing in a RAW Women's Championship match, in a Women's tag team title match as well as in a SmackDown Women's Championship match.
She had battled for the RAW Women's Championship back in February 2018 in the first ever Women's Elimination Chamber match. The then RAW Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss had put her title on the line against five other female superstars of RAW - Sasha Banks, Bayley, Sonya Deville, Mickie James, and Mandy Rose.
In this year's Elimination Chamber match, Mandy Rose had teamed up with her partner Sonya Deville to win the Women's tag team championships. The Boss 'n' Hug Connection, the IIconics, the Samoan Slaughterhouse, the team of Carmella and Naomi and the Riott Squad were the other participants of this match.
And, by challenging for the SmackDown Women's Championship this Sunday, Mandy Rose will achieve a feat that no other female superstar has achieved thus far in WWE.
However, it is not clear whether the SmackDown women's champion Asuka will compete on the final pay-per-view before WrestleMania 35, as she was injured at a recent WWE Live Event.
