WWE NXT gets the Arnold Schwarzenegger boost
– Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a big part of the sports entertainment and fitness industry. He arrived on the scene as a bodybuilder and later cemented his status as a Hollywood A-list star with blockbuster movies such as the Terminator and Conan the Barbarian putting him on the map.
Arnold was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year due to his association with the company and the McMahon family.
A certain fitness festival took place in Columbus, Ohio recently called the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival. The WWE were naturally present with NXT being its representatives along with the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H.
The festival featured the NXT roster in action which included performances from the likes of Tino Sabatelli and the NXT Women’s Champion Bayley
Triple H and Arnold also did a live Q&A session along with Corey Graves and spoke about fitness and wrestling in general. WWE also had a unique proposition in keeping NXT open tryouts for all wrestlers alike, to profess their skill and technique that could probably earn them a contract with the company.
No major stars turned up for the tryouts which were overseen by William Regal, Matt Bloom, and Sara Amato.
