WWE: Flops from Money in the Bank PPV

WWE Money in the Bank 2012 Results

As the smoke and dust settles down, we’re done with the Money in the Bank PPV. Last night at Philadelphia, WWE rolled out its best for the Money in the Bank and put on a solid show for the fans. A PPV in Philly is always well received, and this year’s PPV was no different. Going into the show, the biggest news was the return of Rob Van Dam to the WWE, and since it was in Philadelphia, it was a smart call by the management. I had given the PPV 4 stars out of 5, and I liked the booking of WWE for the night. In this article, I take a look at the things I didn’t like so much, and although some of these aren’t exactly ‘flops’, WWE could’ve done better.

Brad Maddox segment

The pre – show match between The Shield and The Usos was off the charts, and they put on a solid PPV match which went on for 16 minutes. On the main card, the very first match was the Money in the Bank ladder match for the World Heavyweight championship, which was yet again a great opening bout, and the fans were hot for both of them, chanting ‘This is awesome’ for both the bouts. What does WWE do instead of carrying this into the PPV? Brad Maddox comes out for a pointless segment. The Philly crowd didn’t care about him, and he is bland on the mic. He came out to suck up to Vickie Guerrero and the fans, and then played a video which goes against the ‘Be A Star’ campaign that the WWE supports. The video was literally a slap in the face of Vickie, and was nothing more than a ploy to waste some air time, as WWE needed to fill in the three hours somehow. The next match between The Miz and Axel suffered because of this, as the majority of the crowd was put off by the segment.
