On Women’s Wrestling in WWE
Mick Foley was asked about the state of Women’s wrestling in the WWE and would it gather steam like it has done in the NXT. The real revolution has begun in NXT with Sasha Banks and Bayley to name a few.
Foley said, first the mentality of the crowd should change who should not consider Divas as a bathroom break. He added that there has been a significant improvement in the Divas division.
“I think calling it the women’s division, dropping the “Divas” moniker, is the next logical step in that progression.”
On NXT and its effects on the Indy Scene
Mick stated that the influx of the indy wrestlers into the WWE has been a refreshing scene. He added that back in the day indy wrestlers were being frowned upon by the WWE which is not the case now.
He said that it shows how much talent there is out there in the indy wrestling scene and that the WWE will only benefit from it. He said that coming from an Indy background, he knows how hard it is to get over with the fans and that is where NXT has been excellent in giving huge visibility to the Indy stars.
So I think NXT is great for indy wrestling, and knowing that when we come to Auburn, fans may very well be seeing the stars of the future of the wrestling business.
On his daughter Noelle
Foley said that he would love if his daughter was on the Non-wrestling side of the business and added that Noelle is a huge thing on social media and has a lot of fans there. He also joked that sometimes she has to sign a lot more autographs than he does. He remained coy on Noelle wrestling for the WWE, but added that all of his family love wrestling.
"She definitely draws a crowd. We all grew up loving wrestling, and we still do.”
