WWE Hall of Famer being rumored to have a significant role at WrestleMania 32
Last month, Chris Jericho joined the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair on his Wooooo! Nation podcast, where the duo discussed WWE’s plans for WrestleMania 32. Interestingly, Ric Flair mentioned that Vince McMahon wanted a certain WWE Hall of Famer to make his return at the Royal Rumble PPV, and it was none other than the “Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels.
While Shawn turned down the offer of being one of the surprise entrants during the Royal Rumble match, it is now being reported that Vince McMahon wants Shawn Michaels to get involved in the main event of WrestleMania 32.
Considering the fact that WrestleMania 32 is scheduled to take place in Shawn’s home state of Texas, the WWE officials are interested in Shawn getting involved in some capacity in the main event match.
With WWE reportedly penciling in Roman Reigns in the main event against Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight championship, there have been rumblings about Shawn Michaels possibly guest refereeing the bout.
Rumor has it that WWE initially approached Dave Batista to be the special guest referee; however the former WWE champion refused the offer but expressed his interest in getting involved given the right storyline.
While Shawn Michaels has previously squashed any rumors of returning to in-ring competition, there is a good chance that HBK will get involved in the main event, considering the fact that WWE is pulling out all the stops to make this year’s WrestleMania one of the biggest editions in recent memory.
