WWE: Hell In A Cell Preview

Daniel Bryan faces Randy Orton for the vacant WWE championship

In a couple of days, we will finally have a new WWE champion! At the Night of Champions PPV, Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton to become the new WWE champion, but as it turned out, Triple H found a way to reverse the decision and has since held the WWE championship in abeyance. At WWE Battleground, the main event bout ended in a no contest as The Big Show intervened and knocked both the competitors out. Come Hell In A Cell, we are guaranteed of a new WWE champion being crowned, and we have a new sheriff in town to ensure that. Shawn Michaels was chosen as the special guest referee, and he promised the WWE Universe that come Sunday, we will finally have a decisive winner. So who will come out on top? We’ll find out in three days!

Also, this Sunday will mark the return of the former WWE champion, the leader of CeNation, John Cena! Cena has been out of action since SummerSlam, after undergoing a surgery on his injured elbow. Although initial reports suggested that he would be out of action for at least 4 – 6 months, the injury wasn’t as severe as originally feared, and Cena has been medically cleared to compete this Sunday. John Cena will take on the current World Heavyweight champion, and the Mexican “Jefe”, Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio has been far from impressive as the World champion, and hence, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if John Cena manages to capture the world title this Sunday!

The Rhodes brothers have tasted nothing but success in October. Not only did Goldust and Cody Rhodes manage to get their jobs back in the WWE, but they also defeated The Shield, thanks to an interference by the Big Show, and captured the WWE Tag Team titles in the process. This past week on RAW, the Usos took on Rollins and Reigns to determine the number one contenders for the tag team titles at the Hell In A Cell PPV, but the bout ended in a no contest, resulting in a triple threat tag team match this Sunday. Will the hounds of justice manage to win the titles back from the Rhodes brothers? Will The Usos stamp the name of the Anoa’i family in the WWE by winning gold? Or will Goldust and Cody Rhodes use their momentum to retain the titles? We’ll find out in just a few days.

Curtis Axel has been the least successful “Paul Heyman Guy” till date, and he has a chance to correct that come Sunday when he defends his Intercontinental championship against Big E Langston. Langston has had a change of heart in recent weeks, and appears to have turned a new leaf, saving CM Punk from a beat down at the hands of Ryback and Curtis Axel. Heyman and Axel have since belittled Big E, who took an exception to those criticisms and had challenged Axel for a match this Sunday, which Axel accepted. Their bout is set to kick off the pre – show, and it will be interesting to see if Axel manages to save his face, or if Big E Langston wins his first major title on the main show.

Talking about Paul Heyman and “Paul Heyman Guys”, Heyman’s prodigal son is set to take on Heyman and Ryback inside the cell structure in a 2 on 1 handicap match. Heyman and Punk will finally settle their differences, and come Sunday, there will be nowhere to run or hide for Paul Heyman. CM Punk will finally get the opportunity to settle scores with Heyman, as all the three men will be locked inside the Hell In A Cell. Come Sunday, it can truly be hell inside the cell for Paul Heyman! Will Heyman manage to find a way out yet again and escape the wrath of CM Punk? Or will CM Punk finally get his retribution, and dish out punishment to his former mentor and friend? This rivalry has been the feud of the year, and it will be interesting to see how things unfold come Sunday.

Last but not least, AJ Lee will defend her Divas title against Brie Bella. While Brie seems to have AJ’s number at the moment, AJ has Tamina as her back up. Will Tamina Snuka get involved in the match at HIAC? Or will Brie finally manage to shut AJ up for good, and win the Divas title from the demented, crazy grappler? We will find out this Sunday, as the Hell In A Cell PPV rolls out of the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida!
