WWE History: 5 greatest storylines of the PG Era
On July 22nd, 2008, WWE ushered in a new era, when they released a statement announcing that their programming was going to be family-friendly, moving forward.
This moment marked the beginning of The PG Era, which meant that we wouldn't be getting blood, curses, and anything else that wasn't deemed fit for families. The PG Era was immediately criticized by longtime fans of the product but to no avail.
The product was toned down heavily, and it ended up affecting storylines as well as matches on a consistent basis, but that doesn't mean that the era didn't have its moments.
The WWE Universe got a plethora of intriguing storylines out of the PG Era, some of which are being discussed here in vivid detail. Let's take a stroll down memory lane and look at 5 of the greatest storylines of the PG Era.

#5 Michaels vs Jericho
At SummerSlam 2008, Michaels shocked the wrestling world by announcing his retirement. Chris Jericho interrupted Michales and his wife and ended up punching her in the face.

The next night on Raw, Michaels stated that he is coming out of retirement to teach a lesson to Jericho. At Unforgiven, Michaels beat the tar out of Jericho in an Unsanctioned match, forcing the referee to award the win to The Heart Break Kid.
The next month, Jericho managed to defeat Shawn in a ladder match, retaining his World Heavyweight Title. The rivalry came to an end and Michaels went on to feud with JBL.
Michaels and Jericho showed incredible chemistry throughout the feud and the fans were heavily invested in it. Shawn's beatdown of Jericho at Unforgiven is still regarded as being one of the most disturbing visuals of the PG Era.
