The backstory

At WWE SummerSlam 2018, Becky Lynch was featured in a SmackDown Live Women's Championship Triple Threat Match alongside Carmella and Charlotte Flair. The ending to the match saw Flair winning the gold, and Lynch turning heel by attacking the newly crowned Champion.

The heel turn was responded to by the live crowd with a sea of cheers. Soon, Lynch donned the gimmick of "The Man" - a ruthless, no-nonsense anti-hero, a fresh change from her previous good-girl character.

Lynch became incredibly popular among the fans as time passed, to the point that she won the Royal Rumble Match and bagged an opportunity to face Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35. The match was later turned into a Triple Threat battle, with Lynch, Charlotte, and Rousey squaring off in the first-ever Women's main event in WrestleMania history.

The interview

An interview from 2018 has resurfaced online, starring Becky Lynch. It features Lynch talking about what a huge difference a year can make in your career.

Next week. I'm going to be able to go to SummerSlam and it's so funny, I read a quote... and I know Charlotte posted this on her Instagram, and it said "Your whole life can change in a year if you have the discipline and drive", something like that, and to go after your dream and make it happen.

Lynch then stated that she sat backstage at SummerSlam 2017, wondering what more she needed to do to get to the top. You can watch the entire interview below.

The aftermath

The SummerSlam 2018 loss was the best thing that could have happened to Lynch, as it kicked off a series of events that led to her winning the main event of WrestleMania 35. Lynch is currently feuding with Sasha Banks, who has finally returned to WWE TV after disappearing months ago.
