WWE history: Undertaker says he wants to retire before he gets too old to wrestle
The backstory
At Survivor Series 1990, The Undertaker made his WWE debut as a part of Ted Dibiase's Dream Team. Thus kicked off quite possibly the greatest WWE career of all time.
Ever since his debut, The Undertaker has gone through several character changes, has won multiple WWE Titles, and was once the major selling point of WrestleMania. His legendary undefeated WrestleMania streak began in 1991 when he defeated Jimmy Snuka at WrestleMania 7. After putting down a string of WWE Superstars for more than two decades, The Undertaker met Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, where his streak became history.
Tonight, The Undertaker defeated Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown in what people dubbed a messed up bout that was full of botches. It's clear as day here that the WWE Universe is tired of seeing Undertaker destroy his legacy by competing even though he is way past his prime.

The interview
An old interview starring The Deadman has resurfaced online. A snippet from the interview features The Undertaker talking about retirement. Here's what he has to say:
My biggest worry in life as far as wrestling is concerned is that I am in the ring, and some father who watched me for years takes his son and he goes, 'you know son, this is The Undertaker here. I wish you could have seen him when...' that means it is time for me to hang it up.
Go to the 00:58 mark to hear The Undertaker speak on his retirement.
Here's another interview from 2002, where Undertaker clearly states that he doesn't want to be someone who is past his prime. Head over to the 17:20 mark to hear Taker's words.
The aftermath
It's no secret that things didn't go as planned for The Undertaker. He is still wrestling in WWE and is a mainstay on the overseas tours of Saudi Arabia and Australia. Hopefully, WWE realizes that this wouldn't sit well for Taker's health and lets him retire with his head held high.
