Huge setback for Rock's WrestleMania plans, Reigns and Cena's WM 32 update and more
WWE’s WrestleMania 32 plans have become a hot topic of discussion as of late and reports about the same have been coming in at a brisk pace.
As reported earlier, John Cena vs Undertaker is penciled in for the Dallas mega show, but that was not the original plan in place. According to reports from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cena was planned to face off against Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 32.
Reigns was booked to win the title at Survivor Series or one of the future pay-per-views and then transition into a feud with the Cenation leader. All of these angles, however, were in place before Rollins’ untimely injury.
When it comes to The Rock’s WrestleMania status, it seems the Great One will not be wrestling due to an insurance problem regarding a movie he stars in.
He is scheduled to be filming for a movie in 2016 that has an insurance coverage clause for the former WWE Champion that prevents him from wrestling due to the risk of sustaining an injury.
The Rock thus would most likely be making an appearance at WM 32 in some capacity but would refrain from wrestling.
According to Observer, Rollins vs Triple H was pushed up the priority list for WM 32 due to the Rock issue, but Rollins’s injury has dented those plans too. It should also be noted that Ronda Rousey will most likely not be wrestling at the grandest stage of them all due to other commitments.
Thus from the developments, If Cena does end up facing off against Undertaker in Dallas, then Reigns would be booked in a WrestleMania 31 rematch against Brock Lesnar for the World title.
If for some reason, Undertaker vs Cena falls through, expect a match between WWE’s ‘Franchise player’ and ‘The Samoan Superman’ which would be a passing of a torch kind of a moment.
Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
