WWE/Impact News: Laurel Van Ness hints at Royal Rumble availability
What's the story?
It looks like the first-ever women's Royal Rumble has captured the attention of a lot more than just the WWE locker room as current Impact Knockouts Champion Laurel Van Ness recently commented saying she is looking for booking on January 26th through 28th and was wondering if any of her Twitter followers could possibly help her out in finding some kind of date to work.
In case you didn't know...
Even though Laurel Van Ness is the Impact Knockouts Champion, she actually gave her notice to the company and asked her, her release during the last set of television tapings but then Impact Wrestling put the Knockouts Championship on her meaning she is now the top female in Impact Wrestling.
Laurel Van Ness has actually been in WWE before as she appeared in the role of Megan Miller who was the physical therapist Daniel Bryan was hinted at having an affair with in storyline. She also came in fourth place in the females during the 2015 season of Tough Enough, but she would soon turn up in TNA as Chelsea and later Laurel Van Ness where she's been spreading her unique brand of crazy ever since.
Heart of the matter
Although Laurel Van Ness is on top of Impact Wrestling's Knockouts Division, it looks like she very well could be looking to go elsewhere soon enough. When Van Ness posted this question to Twitter, plenty of people threw out suggestions of other indie promotions she could call, but a lot of people were straight up suggesting she go to the Royal Rumble.
It might not be as simple as just showing up to the Royal Rumble event for Van Ness if she wants to work the show. But the Impact Wrestling star (and current girlfriend of Zack Ryder) could very well already be on WWE's radar.
What's next?
If Laurel Van Ness/ Chelsea Green makes a WWE debut during the first-ever Woman's Royal Rumble match it would be a good time for her to do it. After all, the passionate Philly fanbase that is sure to pack the Wells Fargo Center will probably know who she is thus giving her the big pop she deserves upon debuting.
Author's take
Nothing is set in stone and this might just be Van Ness/ Green pulling our chains. Then again, she could legitimately have some dates open on her calendar during a very interesting time period that encompasses both NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia and the Royal Rumble.
