Earlier this year, Love made her fourth return to the Impact Zone during TNA One Night Only: Rivals 2017, in a match against Madison Rayne, where Love successfully managed to defeat her former Beautiful People stablemate.
Angelina, along with her husband and fellow Impact superstar Davey Richards was part of a lengthy feud against Eddie Edwards and Alisha Edwards throughout of 2017. However, following this year's Slammiversary event Angelina Love asked for her release from Impact Wrestling and on 12th August 2017, she was granted her release by the company.
The heart of the matter
During her interview with Chris Featherstone, Love revealed some scathing details regarding WWE, for whom she was supposed to be making her debut back in 2006 over on the Smackdown brand.
On being pulled from her Smackdown debut:
Angelina Love claimed that a few years ago, she was supposed to be making her Smackdown debut, however, it never happened as she got pulled from the crowd and her segment got completely cut out.
The former Knockouts Champion additionally said that the people with whom she was supposed to be working with on her debut went straight into a different storyline and Love also claimed that she was scheduled to work in a storyline alongside JBL, which also never happened.
Love stated that she was supposed to be Matt Hardy's on-screen girlfriend, however, it was Vince McMahon's idea to make a change of plans in the very last minute and Angelina never got a chance to make her on-screen debut.
On leaving Impact Wrestling earlier this year:
The 36-year-old said that she has been with Impact Wrestling for a total of 10 years and she could completely see the writing on the wall, and it was not something she was interested in anymore.
"I saw where it was going, and it just was not something that I [was interested in]. Use me full force, because I’m worth it, or I gotta go. I know my worth.”- Angelina Love stated.
What's next?
Following her departure from Impact Wrestling, Love has gone on to compete for Independent promotions such as Pro Wrestling Pride, where she won the PWP Women's Title, however, went on to lose the title the very next day. The former Knockouts Champion has also wrestled for Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore promotion and competed in Hope Wrestling.
