WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka will breathe easier. His competency hearing has been postponed by two months from March 17th to May 13th according to the Allentown Morning Call.

In September 2015, Snuka was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in connection with the 1983 death of his then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino. He plead not guilty.

A mental competency hearing was scheduled for March 18th, following which the trial was supposed to commence on March 22nd . Lehigh County Judge Kelly L. Banach has given mental health experts until May 13th to “complete their evaluations and reports”.

After his arrest last year, Snuka’s attorney, William E.Moore, stated that the wrestler is unfit to stand trial due to dementia caused by wrestling-related injuries. Snuka’s wife Carol announced in August 2015 that the Hall of Famer was diagnosed with stomach cancer and consequently had to have his lymph nodes and parts of his stomach and other cancerous portions removed.

The incident occurred on May 10th , 1983, when Snuka called an ambulance saying that the 23-year-old Argentino was injured. She later succumbed to head injuries “consistent with a moving head striking a stationary object.” She also had over two dozen cuts and bruises on her body. Both the forensic pathologist and coroner suspected foul play and communicated the same to the necessary authorities.
