WWE Rumours: John Cena’s upcoming Hiatus and Possible Return Date revealed
This year at SummerSlam, John Cena is set to square off against “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles. However, the news concerning what’s going to happen after SummerSlam is both interesting and concerning for an upcoming PPV after SummerSlam.
The news is that John Cena is set to go on a hiatus after SummerSlam to start shooting for the second season of American Grit. This news is of massive proportions because the PPV in question after SummerSlam is going to be the Smackdown Live! exclusive, Backlash. Hence, due to Cena’s hiatus, the officials are starting to make “Cena-less” plans for Smackdown Live! leading up to Backlash.
This will come off as a big blow for the blue brand as John Cena is one of their aspects of their show alongside AJ Styles, and the WWE World Champion, Dean Ambrose that . And having an entire Smackdown Live! exclusive PPV without the thirty-nine-year-old veteran will sure be a big obstacle to overcome for the WWE.
On the other hand, the good news is that Cena might just make it in time for Survivor Series, which will probably take place in late November. John Cena, who recently hosted the ESPYS, now considers himself as a part-time talent because of all these other commitments he has outside the WWE.
Smackdown Live! without John Cena is absolutely something worth scratching our heads over, but there is also a flip-side to this entire thing. It is now that WWE can try creating new stars from their Smackdown Live! roster, by giving the spotlight to deserving talent, and moulding them into main-event players not just till John Cena comes back, but for the time after John Cena stops wrestling full-time.
