WWE legend to quit, big name returns with Roman Reigns' cousin? 4 predictions for WWE SmackDown this weekÂ
The upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown will air live from the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. The company has announced a stacked lineup for Friday's show. The Original Tribal Chief Roman Reigns has been advertised for the upcoming episode.
Aside from that, Nia Jax's Women's Championship celebration and three big matches are also announced for WWE SmackDown. Fans should expect another eventful edition of the blue show this Friday.
On that note, here are four predictions for this week's WWE SmackDown:
#4. AJ Styles returns to announce that he is quitting WWE SmackDown
AJ Styles was rumored to return on the previous episode of WWE SmackDown. However, that never happened. The creative team could be saving The Phenomenal One's return for the upcoming episode.
Styles, who has been on the sidelines since Clash at the Castle, could make a comeback to announce that he is quitting the blue brand. Given there isn't much left for him on SmackDown, Styles could decide to quit the blue show, only to sign a new deal with RAW.
The red brand would provide AJ will new opportunities and some fresh faces to feud with before his impending retirement.
#3. Santos Escobar attacks LA Knight
Santos Escobar prevailed over Andrade last week on WWE SmackDown to become the #1 Contender for LA Knight's United States Title. Following his big win, The Legado Del Fantasma member could look to send a strong message to Knight this week.
Santos, along with his faction, could launch a brutal attack on The Megastar on Friday night. The heel stable could decimate Knight and stand tall over him. This potential angle would be a perfect way to hype Knight and Escobar's title match.
Moreover, it would establish the former LWO member as a real threat to The Megastar's title reign.
#2. Kevin Owens defeats Grayson Waller; Theory attacks
Kevin Owens will lock horns with Grayson Waller on WWE SmackDown this week. Fans should expect The Prizefighter to make easy work of his opponent to earn a quick victory.
However, following his win, Owens could be attacked by Waller's tag team partner, Austin Theory. The duo could join forces to lay waste to Kevin Owens. This potential angle could then result in The Prizefighter's Bash in Berlin opponent and his close friend, Cody Rhodes, showing up to make the save.
#1. Paul Heyman returns with Jimmy Uso
Roman Reigns single-handedly took out the entire Bloodline on last week's edition of SmackDown. Given how things unfolded, Solo Sikoa could look to exact revenge on The Original Tribal Chief this Friday.
The Bloodline could blindside Reigns, launching a brutal attack on The Head of the Table. This potential angle could lead to Roman's Wiseman, Paul Heyman, showing up with Jimmy Uso to make the save.
Heyman was seen with Roman Reigns backstage at SummerSlam. This may mean that the potential return of the WWE Hall of Famer could be on the cards shortly. However, Heyman may not return alone as he could be accompanied by Jimmy Uso, who has been off television ever since he was kicked out of The Bloodline.
The duo could return on Friday to potentially help Roman Reigns even the odds against The Bloodline.
