WWE legend wants to reform popular tag team

The genesis of Angle’s tag team experience

He is one of the biggest ex-WWE Superstars who is still active and if the man himself is to be believed, he will be for a while. After winding up what was branded as his farewell tour with TNA, Kurt Angle announced that he’s taking a long break from the ring, but is not done, by any means.

At the London Film and Comic Con this past week, Angle said in a Q&A session where he stated his interest in returning to the WWE to wrestle part-time. The former six-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion has said that he’s planning to take a one-year hiatus, but he’s very interested in reforming the erstwhile Team Angle (Angle, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Hass).

Angle has zeroed in on standout NXT tag team American Alpha (Jordan and Gable) as the replacements for the former stable members. The Olympic gold medallist said he’d like to lead the tag team, while wrestling the occasional match at PPVs. According to allwrestlingnews.com, Angle said that this would benefit all involved – he would get some exposure, Jordan and Gable would gain a lot from the spotlight and the WWE as well.

When considered, this doesn’t seem a bad idea at all. Jordan and Gable seem an era-appropriate version of Benjamin and Hass, with Jordan sharing Benjamin’s physical style and Gable always comfortable with the mic.
