WWE legend to return after 3 years to help Cody Rhodes against The Rock? Exploring potential WrestleMania 41 dream match

Cody Rhodes and The Rock's rivalry leading to this year's Show of Shows will be memorable for years to come. The company could level it up for WWE WrestleMania 41 with a huge return.

The Rock finally returned to WWE programming as The Final Boss earlier this year and had an amazing feud leading up to The Showcase of The Immortals. He teamed up with Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, and will likely appear at WrestleMania 41 as well. If he decides to fight The American Nightmare, he may face a ghost from his past, leading to a memorable, big-time moment.

If The Great One plans to battle for the Undisputed WWE Championship next year, he may have to face his most renowned rival, Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake was heavily rumored to return to have Cody's back this year, but it unfortunately didn't materialize. If the stars align next year, he could return to hit his arch-nemesis with a devastating Stunner on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.

During a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, Cody Rhodes also mentioned he thinks the actual plans for next year's Show of Shows will surprise everyone. This could very well mean Stone Cold Steve Austin will finally be back after four long years.

While it sounds intriguing, the monumental return is just speculation for now, and nothing is confirmed.

Cody Rhodes' battle against The Rock may not be a singles match at WWE WrestleMania 41

The Final Boss famously handed a mysterious item to The American Nightmare on the WWE RAW episode after WrestleMania 41 and mentioned their story wasn't over yet. This may mean the two stars will battle at next year's Show of Shows. However, they may not face off one-on-one.

The Rock returned at Bad Blood and stared at Roman Reigns, potentially sowing seeds for their feud. Also, The OTC mentioned he would come back for the Undisputed WWE Championship once he's done with Solo Sikoa. These stories could be entangled to create a Triple Threat main event for the company's flagship show next year.

Considering that Kevin Owens started feuding with Cody after he injured Randy Orton, there is a chance he and Orton will also be added to the main event of WrestleMania 41. There is a lot of speculation, but plans will reveal themselves with time.
