WWE legend to return after Kevin Owens puts Cody Rhodes out of commission at SNME? Chances analyzed
Kevin Owens might have lost the WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event, but he did something dastardly after the match. KO executed a banned move, the piledriver, on Rhodes after attacking him from behind. The move rendered the Undisputed WWE Champion motionless on the ground, and he had to be stretchered out to an ambulance.
An angry Kevin Owens later walked out holding Cody's newly unveiled Winged Eagle Title, which Triple H had given The American Nightmare a few days earlier. KO's actions, which have gone unabated for the last few weeks, might now prompt a WWE legend to return and confront him. The superstar in question is none other than Randy Orton.
Kevin Owens had done the same to Orton a few weeks ago on SmackDown, as he gave a brutal neck injury to The Viper after hitting him with a piledriver. Orton was diagnosed with cervical cord neurapraxia, and the company, in a statement, said that there was no timetable for The Viper's return.
However, Orton might return on this week's episode of SmackDown to teach a lesson to Kevin Owens for crossing the line. KO had turned on Orton after The Viper interfered in KO's face-off with Rhodes on SmackDown.
KO instantly attacked Orton and later attacked him in the parking lot. Later, the two men confronted each other when the former Universal Champion hit Orton with a piledriver.
WWE CCO Triple H confronted Kevin Owens after he hit Cody Rhodes with a piledriver
Triple H was visibly angry at KO for what he did to Cody Rhodes. The Game arrived from behind as KO stood at the ramp, celebrating after hitting Rhodes with a piledriver.
He pushed KO, shouting at him, while Owens returned the gesture. The WWE officials later took KO out from the ramp, while Triple H tended to Cody. Triple H also accompanied Cody to the ambulance along with SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis.
Triple H might punish KO on this week's episode of SmackDown by suspending him from the show for an indefinite period. He might, however, also bring Randy Orton back and announce The Viper's match against KO, which might be a No Disqualification match.
The bout can take place at the next WWE PLE, Royal Rumble, on February 1, 2025. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen how Hunter responds to KO's horrific actions against two of the company's top stars.
