WWE legend to turn heel for the first time under Triple H's regime and join Judgment Day? Potential twist explored

Triple H's regime has been witnessing several great storylines unfold, with The Judgment Day being one of the central figures on RAW. Currently, the World Tag Team Champions, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are set to defend their titles against the winners of the number one Contender's Tournament.

On the other hand, Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio continue their rivalry with Rhea Ripley. However, a potential twist could emerge in the forthcoming months as the legendary Rey Mysterio may turn heel for the first time to join The Judgment Day.

In recent months, The Master of the 619 has not been involved in any high-profile storylines and has mainly feuded with the villainous faction. His last match was against Xavier Woods on the September 30 episode of RAW, where he suffered a loss. In June 2024, Rey Mysterio also failed to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match. Given that the veteran hasn't been involved in anything significant while nearing potential retirement, turning heel and having him eventually join his son Dominik in The Judgment Day could be a better direction.

Moreover, Rey is already part of the LWO and is not a purely single competitor on the red brand. Thus, moving him to The Judgment Day as a villainous figure wouldn't diminish his status as a singles star but instead, position him within a faction to add more depth to his character.

The rationale behind the Hall of Famer's heel turn is to give him a memorable run that fans will talk about for a long time. His heel turn has the potential to spark fresh storylines and excite fans with every twist in his story. Fans have already seen unexpected heel turns lead to great success, with Roman Reigns being one of the biggest examples. With Dominik already a part of The Judgment Day, Rey's inclusion would make things even more interesting.

What could happen if Rey Mysterio joins The Judgment Day?

If Triple H decides to move in this direction, it could lead to Rey Mysterio taking over The Judgment Day and becoming the actual leader of the faction. The Master of the 619 is already a Hall of Famer with multiple accolades, making him superior to the other faction members, even Finn Balor. This could give Rey the legitimacy to establish himself as the new leader of the group.

Furthermore, WWE could use this move to set up a babyface turn for Dominik Mysterio. As Rey takes on the role of leader, he might start mistreating his son, which Dominik may not like, leading to tension between them.

This storyline would be reminiscent of how Roman Reigns used to treat his cousins during his run as the Undisputed WWE Champion, which eventually led to Jey Uso turning babyface and leaving The Bloodline.

WWE could replicate this storyline to facilitate Dirty Dom’s babyface turn if Rey joins the villainous faction. Of course, there are many other directions this could take, but it all depends on whether Triple H chooses to pursue the idea of Rey Mysterio joining the RAW faction or not.
