WWE legend to win the Money in the Bank contract for the third time in his career? Checking the possibility
On Saturday, July 6, WWE will present the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, from Toronto, Canada. A show that has the potential to change the direction of a superstar's career forever.
At the show, superstars will attempt to climb a ladder and retrieve a briefcase that contains a contract inside that grants them a championship match anytime they want for up to a year. Over the years fans have seen many top names win the contract and become champions most notably the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest who won the contract last year and then cashed in at WrestleMania 40 in April.
One star who could make his return in the matchup is somebody very familiar with the Money in the Bank ladder match, that being CM Punk. The former WWE Champion has won the briefcase twice, first in 2008 and then again a year later. He would go on to cash in and become champion on both occasions.
Having been nursing a tricep injury recently, Punk is rumored to be 100% again, therefore what better way for him to return to action than in a match he is extremely familiar and confident in. The former AEW star could win the briefcase and possibly cash in on the World Heavyweight Championship.
CM Punk gives WWE fans an update on his injury
Last Saturday at Clash at the Castle, Punk made a surprise appearance as he cost Drew McIntyre the World Heavyweight Title in front of his hometown fans in Glasgow, Scotland.
Following his shocking showing, Punk was asked by the media during the Post Show press conference regarding his health and when he may be back from injury.
"I can tell you that my arm feels amazing. I got permission to skip Raw in Corpus Christi to go home to Chicago to see my doctors with the idea that I'm going to be cleared. I'm going to skip Raw, I'm going to get cleared and then I'm going to show up the Smackdown and let everybody know the good news, hopefully," Punk said.
As one of the most beloved superstars in the WWE, fans will be glued to their screens this Friday on SmackDown as they hope CM Punk will reveal that he can compete in the ring once again.
