WWE Live event results Barcelona, Spain - 11th November, 2016

James Ellsworth and Dean Ambrose put on a show for the fans in Barcelona

WWE’s extensive tour of Europe continued as SmackDown stopped over in Barcelona for a live event. Top superstars such as Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, The Miz and Dolph Ziggler were in action, and the fans weren’t left disappointed.

With three title matches, a mammoth 12-man tag team match and a special appearance in the main event, the house show ended up being an enjoyable outing for the fans in attendance. So here are the results from the house show in Barcelona, Spain:

#1. Rhyno & Heath Slater, Breezango, and The Hype Bros vs. The Ascension, The Vaudevillians and The Usos (12-man tag team match)

The show kicked off with a fun 12-man tag team match pitting the babyfaces and the heels of the SmackDown tag team division against each other. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions put on a good show along with Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder to overcome the challenge of the heels.

Rhyno and Slater were quite over with the fans in a match that had a host of fun spots.

Result: Rhyno & Heath Slater, Breezango and the Hype Bros def. The Ascension, The Vaudevillians, and The Usos via pinfall

#2. Apollo Crews vs. Curt Hawkins

Though Curt Hawkins notched up a win last week on SmackDown, his bad run at live events continued with another loss to Apollo Crews. The short and forgettable match was just a filler before the title matches were underway.

Result: Apollo Crews def. Curt Hawkins via pinfall

#3 Baron Corbin vs. Jack Swagger

Baron Corbin was in action up next despite the fact that he’s supposed to be injured according to the storyline. The injury he sustained on the recent episode of SmackDown resulted in Shane McMahon being announced as his replacement for the Men's Survivor Series Elimination match.

WWE's flawed booking approach was exposed with Corbin's involvement in the show as it undermines the ongoing angle on television. Nevertheless, Corbin picked up the win against Swagger in a decent match. By the looks of it, WWE still thinks Corbin needs more time before he can hang with the big dogs of the company. They inserted Shane McMahon in the match as they feel he’ll draw the numbers and ensure a sell-out crowd.

Did WWE make a terrible mistake by not pushing the Corbin in a potential breakout match at Survivor Series? Only time will tell.

Result: Baron Corbin def. Jack Swagger via pinfall

#4. Nikki Bella & Naomi vs. Carmella & Natalya

The women took to the ring next in a tag team match. This was another filler match before the Intercontinental showdown between Miz and Ziggler.

All the women got some offense in and in the end, the babyface team of Bella and Naomi came out on top against the heels. Nikki Bella was the most over with the fans and garnered a good pop.

Result: Nikki Bella & Naomi def. Carmella & Natalya via pinfall
